Niger (28)- Reflection 4

Week 4 Reflection
Questions on Tsunamis I sorted out
What causes Tsunamis?
How could tsunami effect the population?
Examples of effect caused by tsunami
What is a tsunami?
Is Singapore safe from tsunami threats?

How do we detect tsunami beforehand?

I think we should create a educational game for people to play.

Learning Issues :
To find out more about tsunami, we should create a game and then let people play, it should have questions and answers on natural disasters, mainly tsunami. Nick will create it xD

Action i should take

I think i should think of some constructive questions and scenarios that could inprove the game. I hope this game will be a Big hit in our class.

I was warned by Mr. Seow that i have to make up for the reflections i did not do.

Lin Hsuan TIng Reflection 4

Week 4 Reflection
Basic Question on Tsunamis I have sorted out for target for our project

1.What causes Tsunamis?
2.How could tsunami effect the population?
3.Examples of effect caused by tsunami
4.What is a tsunami?
5.Is Singapore safe from tsunami threats?
6.How do we detect tsunami beforehand?

Ideas i thought of

I think that creating a board game on Tsunamis will be fun. We would have to research and make reference to other board games,to see if our idea will actually work out in an actual board game system. Then we still have to do even more research on tsunami before we start the actuall making in order to make the game more fun and enjoyable.

Learning Issues :

I want to find out more about Tsunamis , so that I could create a fun board game that teaches people facts about Tsunamis that are unknown to them. I want to create an new kind of game , and I want to learn how to make the game fun and enjoyable , so that people would develop an interest in the subject of tsunami, and would learn more about it on their own out of intrest.

Action i should take

I think i have to spare more time from my weekends to do researchs on Tsunami as they are essential to the success of making the game.

Lin Hsuan Ting Reflection 3

Our Leader, Nicholas, and TiC, Mr Melvin Seow was absent
So basically we have to do it on our own.

So, i have to get started with the project

For Now we have a few questions on our project.
1. Is there a way to predict when a tsunami would strike?

2. Is there a way to calculate the aftermath of a tsunami to start the reconstruction plan eariler if unable to prevent?

3. Could there be a safety mechanism in place to be activated to minimize the destructive force of a tsunami?

4. Can special materials or designs for structures be made to allow people to be safe even under a
massive tsunami strike?

i would vote for Option 4 as it is the only realistic way that could save the people suffering from tsunami strikes.
I learnt more about Tsunami , how to develop questions for the topic , and how to research using many different sources , such as the amazing WIKIPEDIA!!!!!!

Facts : What I know about Surveys

It is a method for collecting quantitative information about items in a population.
A survey may focus on opinions or factual information depending on its purpose.
Many surveys involve administering questions to individuals.

Ideas : What I think about surveys

I think surveys are a very efficient method to collect opinions or facts depending on the topic. It will be a very fast way of collection various information. I think surveys should have more close ended questions as the person doing the survey would save more time and find it hassle-free. Although there should be more close-ended questions, there should still be 1 or 2 open ended questions.

Learning Issues : What I found out in the survey

I found out more about surveys;
(1) How to form questions on the topic
(2) How to make relevant questions based on the topic
(3) How to form a proper survey which consists of the right number of open-ended and close-ended questions.
(4) How to make a survey which is both interesting and effective to the person doing it
(5) How to create and make a google-doc survey

Action Plan : What can I do after the survey

(1) Change our group's final product to the most popular survey choice
(2) Further develope our game based on the surveys
(3) Improve and make our game more interesting and educational

Nicholas Wan (27) Reflection 4

Facts I know :

I know the main points of Tsunamis ,

(1) What causes Tsunamis?
(2)
Effects on people of Tsunamis.

(3) An example of a Tsunami effect.

(4)What is a Tsunami?

(5)Why is Singapore safe of Tsunamis?

(6)
Early detection and Signs of Tsunamis.

Ideas - What I think :

I think that creating a game on Tsunamis will be very fun. We would have to research and make reference to other similar games . Though before we make the game we would have to research more about Tsunamis , and research more on how to make the game , and how to make the game more fun and interesting.

Learning Issues :

I want to find out more about Tsunamis , so that I could create a game that teaches people facts about Tsunamis that are unknown to them. I want to create an original game , and I want to learn how to make the game fun and interesting , so that people would develop an interest in the subject , and would learn more about it .

Action Plan - What can I do :

During my own free time , I can research more about the topic. I can visit the library to learn more facts about the topic . I can ask my seniors that made games on advice . I can go to the internet and explore the games so that I can make changes to my own game to make it more fun and interesting .
